Poll shows Bartlett leading over Adelson

Republican mayoral candidate Dewey Bartlett leads Democrat Tom Adelson by about 10 percentage points going into the general election campaign, according to the latest Oklahoma Poll.

Although the poll was conducted Aug. 29-Sept. 1, a week before Tuesday's primaries, respondents were asked how they would vote if the general election matched Bartlett and Adelson.

Forty-six percent of the 405 likely voters surveyed picked Bartlett, compared to 36 percent for Adelson and 18 percent who didn't know how they would vote.

The survey also paired Adelson and two other Republican candidates, Chris Medlock and Anna Falling, in hypothetical general election match-ups. Adelson was the choice by similar margins in both - 50 percent to 30 percent against Medlock and 49 percent to 27 percent against Falling.
