Henry leads in approval

Gov. Brad Henry remains the state's most popular major office-holder, edging out U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn in the most recent Oklahoma Poll.

Sixty-seven percent of those surveyed said they have a favorable opinion of Henry as the Democrat enters his eighth and final year in office. That figure was actually down 9 percentage points from October and his lowest rating since 2004.

Coburn, meanwhile, remained essentially unchanged from October at 65 percent favorable.

The poll provided little comfort to anyone thinking of challenging the Republican Coburn for re-election this year. His approval rating was 86 percent among Republicans and 50 percent among Democrats. Moderates were divided on Coburn, with only liberals panning his performance.
