Poll: Oklahomans give high marks to utilities, others for ice storm recovery
12/23/07
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A new poll indicates that Oklahomans give high marks to utility companies, emergency responders and support organizations for their performance during this month's ice storm.
The telephone survey of 745 likely voters was conducted Dec. 16-19 by SoonerPoll.com for the Tulsa World and television station KOTV. It returned similar numbers for all three groups, with more than 80% the response of each group as excellent or good.
The numbers are similar to those from an Oklahoma Poll conducted after a separate ice storm in January. Poll consultant Al Soltow says there was very little change, except in personal preparedness.
Eighty-one percent statewide rated the response by charities as good or excellent. Statewide, 85% gave high marks to first-responders.
