OKLAHOMA CITY – Google News, an online news gathering website, has added SoonerPoll.com its more than 4,500 news services worldwide.  Now, online readers will be able to search through published polls posted on SoonerPoll.com and, with one click, go directly to the website to read the full survey article.

“We are very excited about the opportunities this brings to poll watchers nationwide,” said Bill Shapard, SoonerPoll’s CEO.  “Just as the 2006 political season begins, more and more online readers will be able to follow the candidates, the issues, and the opinions in Oklahoma from anywhere in the nation or the world.”

Google News is a highly unusual news service, where results are compiled solely by computer algorithms and without human intervention. As a result, news sources are selected without regard to political viewpoint or ideology, enabling the reader to see how different organizations are reporting the same story. This variety of perspectives and approaches is unique among online news sites.

As Google News gathers stories, it automatically arranges them to present the most relevant news first. Topics are updated every 15 minutes.

SoonerPoll.com is Oklahoma’s public opinion pollster, conducting polls on political races and current issues for the news media, trade associations, and Oklahoma industry leaders.  SoonerPoll’s advanced polling methodology has led the polling firm to being the state’s top pollster for the last two statewide elections.
