TULSA, Okla. Even though the state's casinos and lottery are gaining players majority of Oklahomans appear to have never darkened the doors of a casino.
More than two-thirds of 752 likely voters surveyed January 19th through 21st for the most recent Oklahoma Poll say they have never gone to one of the 90 tribal casinos in the state.
And 58 percent say they've never bought a lottery ticket.
Still there has been a nearly six percent increase since June 2005 of Oklahomans who say they have been to a tribal casino.
Poll consultant Al Soltow of the University of Tulsa says one reason for the difference is the number of Oklahomans who say the go to a casino more than 20 times a year increased from nine percent in 2005 to 14 percent.
The poll is sponsored by the Tulsa World and K-O-T-V with a margin of error of plus or minus three-point-58 percentage points.
