As Oklahomans at our centennial, who are we?

As Oklahoma celebrates its 100th year as a state, SoonerPoll will begin a series of surveys throughout the state to help define and understand who we are, what we believe and why we are who we are.

The series will explore our cultural beliefs, our political beliefs, and our social beliefs -- because if there is anything we don't already know is that Oklahomans are a very opinionated people.

Working in a collaborative effort with Dr. Keith Gaddie, University of Oklahoma political science professor, and Dr. Robert Darcy, OSU Regents' Professor of Political Science and Statistics, as well as many others, this project hopes to provide a comprehensive look at ourselves for history's sake.

Perhaps another generation would perform similar research at Oklahoma's 200th birthday for even more in-depth look at how Oklahomans have changed in the state's second century.
